I was taken aback the other day when a lovely young lady came up to me and said, “Thank you for your smile.” I paused and gave her a puzzled look. I was speechless. I didn’t remember smiling at her that morning. Sensing the confusion on my face she explained: “I just want to thank you for always having a bright smile on your face.” I think I might’ve said thank you, but now I’m not very sure. 🙂
I thought that experience was pretty unusual for me—in a good way—and I definitely wrote it down in my journal yesterday morning!!! 🙂 I thought her smile was even brighter and more beautiful than mine, but it reminded me that oftentimes we influence other people more than we know, and we sometimes do it in unexpected ways! 🙂
In my mind I thought, “If she only knew what I had been through the past day.” But it didn’t matter. She thought my smile was worth mentioning and those simple remarks of hers made my day! 🙂 Her comment reminded me that life is beautiful despite all the trials we face and that a lot of things are certainly worth smiling about! 🙂 I’ve also learned that our positive outlook might touch other people’s lives in ways that we cannot even imagine! 🙂 I definitely think that this young lady’s kind remarks inspired me more than my crooked smile inspired her. And I vowed to strive and maintain a bright attitude no matter what challenges life throws my way. 🙂
May we follow this young lady’s fine example of candidly and generously expressing our gratitude to people who touched our lives for good—be it about great things that changed our lives significantly, or simple things that made our everyday lives happier! 🙂
On this note I’d like to thank all of you for your support and some of you for being my very good friends beyond the pages of this blog site!! Thank YOU very much from the bottom of my heart!!! 🙂
Thank you too, for being a friend. Thanks for inspiring us with your blog. You really had a great talent that touches the life of so many people. I love you sis!
Love you too, Marifi! Thanks! 🙂
That’s the irony, sometimes we don’t even care what a very innocent smile can do.
Lesson learned, President. 🙂 Thanks.
Ate Cherry,
THANK YOU din po sa lahat ng mga sharings ninyo. I enjoyed reading them and gave me the inspiration to strive to be happy despite all the heartaches and afflictions life is throwing at me… kahit masakit…huhuhu…
I love you po. Stay happy!
Meldy
Thanks, Meldy! Much appreciated. 🙂
Sis.Cherry,
Always wear a smile on the face and it will make you look good all the time. An expression of being positivist in life enjoy every hour of the day. We appreciate all the surroundings including people we meet wherever we go. You won’t stop somebody from smiling but would do if she cries. Though you cover your lips, your eyes could radiate your smile. I think one of the best act of charity a person can do is to make other people smile.
I approached a friend desparate of being jobless and financially broke. I told him to smile because of having nothing you’ll be getting something. You could find another good job waiting for you. Seek and you shall find it.
Look ! there are people with handicap unlike you but able to gain work. He smile and said ” Thanks I needed that motivation”. He was hired after a week.
I visited an ailing member at the hospital and gave him a blessing. That is the only moment he was seen smiling because of the rigorous pain he had suffered in the hospital while undergoing treatment. A day after, he was discharged from the hospital and became my counselor.
As a home teacher, we find a mother worried of her serious sicked husband. I called the missionaries to help me bring him to the hospital. Before I left the room in the hospital the member patient hold my hand tight and smile at me saying ” Thank you “. That was the last day I saw him alive.
A seven month old born baby with bluish color and little pulse was placed on carton milk box, while the parents are just waiting for the child to die when I arrived. I told them this baby deserves to live. Smile glow on their faces. So we brought the baby to the hospital and was recusitated as well as incubated for 2 weeks and were happy to see the baby oftenly smile like an angel.
Smile its a cure to many and can win lots of friends.
Regards,
Dan
Thanks, Bro. Mendoza.

Hello meine liebe Cherry,
A very painful laden hospital patient in the hospital has always a welcoming smile to her visitors friends despite the excruciating, horrible pain and discomforts she’s sufferring. She has the glimpse of seeing what is beautiful and worth appreciating things around her like complimenting a pretty stitched decorated jeans pants of a 10 year old girl who is a daughter of a visiting friend, the beauty of a 1 long stemmed white rose given to her by another friend , the bunch of yellow roses that I brought to her, the appreciation she showed thru a sweet smile despite pains and dizzy feelings for a self made cards with signatures of all Relief Society members in our ward, the much appreciated generous compliment she said after tasting even very little of the self cooked food by her mother, and I always have to fight for the tears before her presence to fall. She always give her smile to me, to her friends visiting , inspite or despite of all physical pains. A very brave woman of her age… and in my spirit I smile, but in the natural and in secret.. my tears are falling down….Mo
Liebe grüsse von Mom!
Danke, Mutti. 🙂 Sometimes when we go through life’s bitter challenges, the best thing to do is to smile and think that it will eventually pass. Someone once said that if it doesn’t kill you, it will make you strong. I admire the good example of this patient and I know she has become an inspiration of courage in the face of trials because of her bright disposition. We love her and are praying for her recovery.
Thank you sis for sharing your daily inspiring messages/experiences.
You’re welcome, Kikay. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
