Three weeks ago, I attended a professional seminar and was very pleased by the approach of the facilitator on his topic. Although the subject matter was intended for the workplace, the audience appreciated his examples that applied to people’s lives in general. He boldly declared: “Life is all about relationships!” While discussing the 3Ps for success, I was delighted that he added an additional “P” word to the renowned triad of Passion, Practice, and Persistence. He gave this fourth P its very own presentation slide and referred to it as the most important element of success—Prayer.
The facilitator made plenty of jokes during his presentation. I thought he had a good sense of humor, yet beyond his funny stories, there was a lot of truth and wisdom in his statements.
There’s this Primary song about a foolish man building his house upon the sand, and the wise man building his upon the rock. Just as another song says “sand castles fall apart when the tide comes in,” we know that when one puts up his house upon sandy foundation, it won’t be long until it will all get shattered.
Through my life’s experiences, I’ve learned that true success is not measured by anything that the eye can see or the hand can touch, for these things are deceiving. It’s as intangible as a warm feeling when we’ve done something good that made someone else happy; or the peace and contentment that we get when we hear our children’s laughter; or an honest day’s toil whether in the farm or in the office; and a joyful heart after doing what we know is right.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to the knowledge that our efforts had been blessed knowing we did the best we could with whatever it was that our Heavenly Father had entrusted to us.
One time after my work is done here at the office, i attended a temple endownment session. As I seat inside that room pondering on many things, i suddenly received a reminder: “do not boast on the knowledge that you have, it might be taken away.”
We have so many desires in life, we want to achieve many things, we want to learn many things along the road. But what i realized is that we must always learn to share whatever we have, teach whatever we learn, and share whatever talent we have. If in case that it will be taken away from us in any instance, we have shared our light to others.
On that way we may find the element of real success.
Thank you for the message.
Thank you for your comment, Ryan. I agree that we must share whatever we have with those who could benefit from it.
Thanks Cherry, for sharing your inspiring thoughts. Take care!

Hi Cherry,
Thanks again for the wonderful message that keeps me going to brighter side of life. I just arrived from a business trip and I immediately opened my email which ignited excitement as I read your inspiring thoughts.
You know I always have the same impression everytime I travel by plane about 32,000 to 40,000 miles above sea level. As I saw the blue skies and cumulus clouds afar, I visualized the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ surrounded with the host of angels sounding the trump that could be heard throughout the earth. While I look down the isles of the seas, I became mindful of those few righteous people assembling themselves worshipping God while the multitude are full of greed to worldly idolation falling down deep into the pit. As I travel further I recalled precious memories of those close to me. I realized then that without established relationship with God and our neighbors there is numbness of oneself as if no life at all. Someone becomes mindful because he cares.
We are taught of the things from above to learn how to live righteously and work for good cause. In doing so, it requires the 4 Ps to be “p”erfect. Strong is the foundation of those who build themselves upon the word of God. They prevail over the wiles of the adversary. They are also steadfast, firm, and immovable full of assurance to gain salvation when the time comes.
Success cannot stand long though how rich and powerful a man would be. It is measured by how one goes uphill reaching the top and how he absorbed the impact of falling down the stream yet bounces back to regain his former stature. On the other hand, by knowing the purpose of life, success is not limited to yourself alone but include the family as a whole.
Do what is right like Christ did before and nothing wrong in anyway.
Best regards,
Dan
As always, thanks for your comment, Bro. Mendoza.
