Happy Mother’s Day!!!
I hope that all the moms out there were pampered by their children the way I was today.
Motherhood is such a noble calling and I’m grateful that I was given a chance to be a mom of two wonderful children here on earth! It’s one of the most difficult jobs in the world, but it’s also THE most rewarding experience! I just love it!
Anyway, I had an interesting couple of weeks! I’ve experienced some real highs and lows that took me by surprise. Highs that allowed me to feel like I was on top of the world, soaring like an eagle; and lows that dragged me deep down the bottom of the pit that I couldn’t even write a short blog entry last week!
But I survived! YayYy!
Through it all, I realized that we have been reminded in the scriptures that there must be opposition in all things! Whatever challenges we face are for our own benefit. We grow and expand our souls when we go through situations that test our patience and tolerance. We become more mature when we experience things that allow us to exercise our faith and humility.
In one conversation that I had, I was being persuaded to act on some things that I really didn’t think mattered, so I refused to be stressed about it. The person that I was talking to had a different point of view and said that if he were in my situation he would “fight for it.” One lesson that I learned in my youth was that, “If it’s not for eternity, drop it.” I think this statement has helped me choose the kinds of stresses that I will allow to affect my life, and let go of those that I cannot control or don’t really matter. For the most part, relationship fallouts affect me more than anything else. I think relationships need our utmost attention especially when repairs need to be made, so we could have happy and healthy associations within our circle of influence.
So, whatever challenges we are currently facing in our lives, let’s keep in mind that it is as normal as it gets!
Opposition is a part of life that we must learn to accept. Our reaction to it is the only thing we can control. Either we take it head on with faith and courage, or we just simply drop it!
Have a fabulous Mother’s Day!!! ![]()
Happy Mother’s Day!!
Cherry, I know that your children are your blessings and you are doing a great job. I saw a couple of pictures of your children and they look beautiful, specially little Justin. He is a great looking teenager. My children grew too. Gregory is going to Spanish South Denver mission on June 10. Greg is taking him to Provo MTC on June 7.
Enjoy your day and thanks for sharing your gift of spiritual writing with us.
Alba, it’s great to hear from you!
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad to hear about Gregory! Congratulations! That must be really exciting to have a missionary son! I saw some of their photos online as well and they all look gorgeous! I hope you had a great Mother’s Day! Miss you!
That is really true I am reading a book today , the title is Finding peace happiness and joy , part of it it says that God created mothers , for nurturing His children because Fathers are suppose to be busy performing their priesthood callings . What a great plan of happiness He has for us . Happy Mothers day . Love you . Mommy Marcy
I’ve also read that book, mommy marci!
Was it the one written by Elder Richard Scott? He’s one of my favorite Apostles for many reasons!

To a super mom, belated Happy Mom’s Day! I’ve now reached the ‘tipping point’ where my membership in the Church is longer than the years prior to that … and have realized how blessed my life has been since then to have the gospel play an important role in raising my kids and rearing a family.
Miss you all, guys!!!
Yay, Pam!!! Congratulations on that important milestone!! And you’re computing that, eh?! Haha! I can tell you’re not as busy as before!
Wheee!! I hope you had a great Mother’s Day yourself! We miss your family, too!
happy mothers day!
Thanks!
Hello there Dear Sister,
Kamusta po kayo? It is always exciting to here from you. I hope that all is well with you and your family. How’s the Church in the Philippines? I miss it more then words can say. Perhaps the Lord will bring us back there again in our life time. I re-saw pictures of you the other day, and it brought back so many fond memories. Even though I was not able to attend all the large baptisms, because of District Conferences, I sure wish, to this day, that I could have attended the one you came to. But duty called another way. I was wondering if you knew, who I would send service hours worked here, that could be used there, toward the one million service hours for your jubilee. The Brethren at the Filipino Fireside after Conference, said that they would love to accept service hours worked here, toward there big event. I need to know what info is needed, (Including, Service Activity Title or Event, how many attended, and hours worked), and who to send it to. I heard this from Elder Teh and Elder Valdez. That might be the source to find out this info from. Our Stake has had some good sized service projects lately, and have others coming soon. Thanks for your kindness. Remember that we love you, and appreciate the person that you are. Again, take care, and enjoy your week.
Love ya,
Pres Trask
( Former Tacloban Mission President )
Hi President Trask!
It’s even more exciting for me to hear from you! Yes, I heard that effort for Filipinos there in the US to contribute to the service hours here in the Philippines through a meeting at the Area Office the other day. That’s really wonderful news! You may coordinate the details of this initiative with Elder Valdez. Thanks for your support and I hope all is well at your end.
Take care, President!
Cherry
